Ellisville Group Alerts Residents About Ongoing Scams

ELLISVILLE, Miss. (WDAM) – An Ellisville group sponsoring a public market in July is warning potential vendors as well as residents to be wary of a scam.

“It has been brought to our attention that there are people other than Ellisville Market Days who are asking for vendor fees and registration for our market,” Ellisville Markey Days said in a Facebook post. “If you have any questions, message our page directly.”

The group is accepting vendor applications for a trio of events named after the group itself, Ellisville Market Days.

The events are scheduled 8 a.m. to noon on Saturday, May 17; Saturday, June 21; and Saturday, July 19.

The organization said it only uses one way to to apply and submit payments.

“Any other form is not from our staff,” the post read.

The post went on.

“We would never ask for money without an application,” the post read. “And we only use Eventeny for applications and payment. The official link has been posted for applications.

“Do not correspond with any other people pretending to accept vendor fees.”

The post ended by saying that some vendor spots still were available.

“Message us if you’d like to participate,’ the post concluded.
