Rubrik has launched a solution called Identity Resilience, designed to secure the entire identity landscape alongside data. Identity Resilience aims to protect the most common entry points for attackers – human and non-human identities (NHIs) – to help organisations maintain operations with minimal downtime.
“Identity Resilience” seeks to tackle a gap in corporate security. An essential part of this framework involves strengthening foundational elements.

, identity remains a consistent target for hackers. When compromised, these identity systems grant attackers access to critical data and credentials, and their disruption can prevent cyber recovery. Rubrik’s solution is designed to secure this vulnerable authentication infrastructure that powers virtually every major enterprise.
“Identity systems are not only complex and hard to manage, but they have also become the primary gateway for attackers aiming to access an organisation’s valuable data,” said Mike Tornincasa, chief business officer at Rubrik. “Today, we signal our commitment to identity protection, to address our customers’ needs by detecting threats that target identities and proactively reduce identity risks, just as we have successfully done with data security.”
Hackers infiltrate systems through identity.
Rubic’s identity management division protects millions of identities worldwide. This isn’t surprising considering a recent CISA study which revealed that 90% of cyber-attacks targeting essential services start with an identity breach, frequently resulting in elevated privileges and unauthorized access to sensitive company information.
These threats typically develop slowly, highlighting the importance of understanding not only the “who” and “what,” but also the “when”—how privileges or access patterns evolve over time. Through the use of time-series data, Rubrik’s system is engineered to offer ongoing insight into alterations in identities, facilitating quicker identification of anomalous behavior.
Much like how Rubrik oversees and maintains data, the firm’s expected features are crafted to detect, track, and protect crucial, sensitive, and dynamic identities, including non-human entities (such as devices utilizing service accounts and access tokens).
NHIs, which are more numerous than their human equivalents, present significant management challenges and create vulnerabilities that are becoming prime targets for attackers looking to gain unauthorized access and elevate privileges. Existing identity security methods do not equip organizations with the means to evaluate the risks associated with NHIs, monitor data access, or trace unusual activities over periods of time.
Frequently, identity management, identity protection, and data security are treated separately with distinct products managed by various teams within an organization. Conversely, Rubrik seeks to integrate these functionalities to offer enhanced features along with a comprehensive perspective on both identity and data.
Rubrik provides broad support for identities spanning hybrid settings. These new features are designed to help organizations detect threats sooner and recover systems faster, thereby enhancing their cybersecurity strength.
