If you’re in the U.S. and have utilized a device with Siri capabilities between September 17, 2014, and December 31, 2024, you could qualify for a share of a $95 million settlement from Apple.
A class-action
lawsuit
filed against Apple in 2019 claimed the iPhone maker was using Siri to record users’ conversations without consent. Apple settled the case earlier this year
for $95 million
without admitting any wrongdoing.
Now, a notice approved by the US District Court for the Northern District of California is being sent to affected parties. At least three Dailyexestaffers have received it; check your inbox for an email with the subject line: “Lopez Voice Assistant Class Action Settlement.” (Fumiko Lopez is one of the plaintiffs.)
If you qualify, you have the option to file a claim.

If you haven’t gotten the notification yet but think you might have been impacted by Siri’s privacy breach, go ahead and click “Submit Claim” on the site and choose “New Claim.” Should you be uncertain or require additional information regarding the compensation, feel free to do so as well.

Apple, meanwhile, has other Siri-related problems on its hands. At least
