Thanks to significant funding, Resurgens Gaming is now initiating a new video game accelerator along with a publishing wing.

Based on a press statement, the
Atlanta-based gaming company
secured a significant sum, reportedly reaching seven-figure status, from various backers to initiate a new project named Ghost Launchpad. This accelerator aims to utilize Unreal Editor for Fortnite (UEFN), a tool designed for crafting and deploying game content straight onto the Fortnite platform, with the objective of enabling creators to reduce the duration needed to transition their games from idea phase to release.

We’ve witnessed a swift transition where brands are using video games and the creator economy to connect with consumers,” stated Todd Harris, CEO of Resurgens, in the announcement. “With the inclusion of Ghost Launchpad, Resurgens can maintain its position at the forefront of this sector. By incorporating video game creation and distribution alongside our creator-focused content and live events, we’re well-placed to support both established and new brands as they enter one of the most rapidly expanding segments of media and entertainment.

As stated in the announcement, entertainment industry leaders together with notable family offices and investment firms from the southeastern region contributed funding to facilitate the launch. This included the personal office of NBA player Trae Young from the Atlanta Hawks, chaired by Tammy Hurt who leads the Recording Academy, as well as Matt Woomer, the creator of Blue Mammoth Games.

Harris chose not to comment on the total sum of money that Resurgens obtained.

The accelerator will be situated at Resurgens’ main offices in Atlanta and will be headed by Brian Grayson, who previously served as the vice president at Hi-Rez Studios.

We view UEFN as a groundbreaking game development tool and Fortnite as an evolving distribution platform,” Grayson stated. “Through partnerships with skilled developers at an early stage, we can leverage our industry expertise to expedite their progress via quick iterations and launch schedules, enabling their games to hit the market sooner than ever.

Launched in 2019, Resurgens also has ownership of Skillshot Media, a firm specializing in live streaming, as well as Ghost Gaming, a community-focused gaming group.
