The UTC has declared that the new area code “564” will be introduced starting June 10 in the Seattle region.
The UTC decided to introduce a new area code a few years back since the available “206” prefixes have been exhausted.
If your phone number starts with 206, you won’t be affected.
The 564 area code is designated for people in the Seattle area who are obtaining new telephone numbers.
Customers of Verizon have mentioned getting text messages about the introduction of the new area code.
