Suspect Nabbed as Amarillo Police Track Stolen Car with Cutting-Edge Tech

AMARILLO, Texas (KFDA) – Recently, the Amarillo Police Department found and returned a stolen vehicle with assistance from the technology at the Amarillo Regional Crime Center.

As reported by APD, a white Chevrolet Malibu from 2010 was taken, and the car’s owner had knowledge of the incident and could positively identify the individual responsible.

A little more than four hours after the incident, the law enforcement agencies were notified via license plate readers about the stolen tag.

Law enforcement carried out a felony stop and apprehended both the driver and passenger of the vehicle.

The driver was subsequently taken into custody for Misuse of a Automobile.
