How it works
A vehicle just cruises under an arch equipped with numerous sensors and cameras that capture multiple pictures as it goes through.
Service technicians and drivers can instantly view the images on a computer monitor, or receive them via text on their smartphones. These visuals can expose issues like an oil drip beneath the car suggesting a potential leak, along with signs of damage such as bulges, nail punctures, or worn tire treads. Additionally, cameras have the capability to spot minor dents and scrapes on the vehicle.

The technology examines the outside of the vehicle. Hence, a mechanic or additional diagnostic equipment like scanners and code readers would still be required to assess the engine for further problems.
What’s next
Michelle Taylor from UVEYE informs us that Amazon is utilizing this technology to inspect their fleet of delivery vehicles, while Hertz is employing it to assess any damages or signs of wear on rental cars both before and after use.
