— The Texas State Technical College (TSTC) campus in Marshall is expanding its Diesel Equipment Technology program.
An upcoming addition will enable pupils to gain practical experience through methods that were not possible before.
This obstructs a 21,720-square-foot, $14.5 million property.
Bradley Hayes, who leads the teams focused on Diesel Equipment Technology and Welding Technology programs, expressed his enthusiasm. “The previous curriculum included substantial theoretical components and training simulators, yet provided students with access to just a few actual pieces of machinery,” he explained. “Transitioning directly from academic theory through simulation practice to working with genuine equipment will offer our students an unparalleled glimpse into their future careers.”
Campus Provost Bart Day anticipates that the addition of this new facility and a $2.6 million expenditure on updated equipment will enable TSTC to produce better-prepared graduates. “This increased space along with the $2.6 million devoted to modernizing our tools will significantly boost the abilities our students acquire during their time here, ultimately offering businesses technicians who possess enhanced capabilities to contribute positively to their profitability.”
