According to Spiro, the result of this initiative will lead to job creation, decreased dependence on imported goods, and reduced total expenses for both local drivers and business owners when it comes to owning vehicles.

Kshitij Sharma, who serves as the company’s Managing Director, stated during his address that this expansion aims to increase accessibility to sustainable transport options.

“To support local economies, Spiro plans to establish or partner with local assembly facilities in Tanzania. This initiative will drive job creation, reduce reliance on imports, and lower vehicle costs, making sustainable transport more accessible,” Kshitij Sharma – Managing Director, Kenya and Tanzania.

Spiro has already installed over five battery swap stations at crucial points in Dar es Salaam such as Gongo La Mboto, Kigamboni, Mbagala, Kariakoo, and Bonyokwo’s Total Station – Kariakoo. The thoughtfully placed facilities guarantee easy availability of fully charged batteries, thus boosting user convenience and operational effectiveness.
