Rocket Lab Teams Up With U.S. Air Force for Neutron Launch

    Its new mid-size reusable rocket called Neutron has been proposed for use by the U.S. Air Force Research Laboratory as part of a Rocket Cargo mission aimed at facilitating point-to-point delivery of goods. This operation is set to include a Neutron launch with an Earth-return component, which is currently planned for no sooner than 2026.
  • Under the terms of the launch agreement, Neutron will conduct a Rocket Cargo durability test as part of the AFRL Rocket Experimentation for Global Agile Logistics initiative. This program, spearheaded by the Department of Defense, aims to develop a rocket-driven global logistics solution capable of swiftly delivering supplies worldwide through partnerships with private space companies.
  • Rocket Lab’s Neutron medium-lift reusable launch vehicle will provide both government and commercial customers with an alternative and reliable launch service capable of deploying 13,000 kg to low Earth orbit.
