
SAN DIEGO (FOX 5/KUSI) – Legendary musician Elton John is set to perform at San Diego’s iconic Petco Park on Friday, attracting both music enthusiasts and philanthropists who gather for a worthy cause.
The UK vocalist is stepping onto the stage for
Curebound’s 2025 “Festival for Cures,”
designed to raise funds for both adult and pediatric cancer research.
The single-night charity performance is anticipated to attract numerous “Rocket Man” enthusiasts to downtown San Diego, inevitably leading to significant traffic congestion.
Here’s what you should be aware of before going to Petco Park for the event.
Upper deck tickets
On Wednesday, organizers revealed that a
limited number of tickets
Starting at $42.70, they were up for grabs.
Extra seating was introduced in the stadium’s upper level to provide more individuals with a chance to enjoy the performance.
Presale tickets went on sale in March, with the lowest-priced individual seats
being sold for a minimum of $300
.
Important times
Individuals can start entering the stadium at 6:30 p.m. once the doors open, but re-entering after leaving will not be allowed.
Visitors are reminded to check their seating section as indicated in the email provided to everyone who bought tickets, so they know which entryway to utilize.
The program is scheduled to start at 8 p.m.
Transportation
The three trolley routes provided by the Metropolitan Transit System cater to Petco Park, giving attendees an alternative to navigating traffic before and after concerts.
The trolleys reach the transit center located at 12th Street and Imperial Avenue roughly every fifteen minutes.
