Leica M11-P Safari: A New Olive-Green Rangefinder with Revolutionary Triple-Resolution Sensor

Leica
Leica has introduced the M11-P Safari, a distinctive variant within their M11 lineup, distinguished by its classic olive-green coloration—a hallmark of Leica’s Safari collection dating back to the ’70s. This model retains all essential functionalities found in the standard M11-P version yet introduces several aesthetic modifications for added distinction.

The upper plate is crafted from robust brass and coated with a non-glossy olive-green finish. Complementing this hue, the coordinating green leatherette enhances traction and upholds the color theme. Positioned at the top and front, the knobs and control buttons boast a silvery appearance, while the customary red Leica emblem has been substituted with an unobtrusive silver fastener. On the rear section of the device, the adjustments are encased in controls that have a black treatment. Additional aesthetic elements consist of the inscribed Leica lettering along with “Leica Camera AG” and “Wetzlar Germany.”

The M11-P Safari performs exactly like the regular M11-P model. This version comes equipped with 256GB of built-in memory and accommodates UHS-II SD cards. It captures images in both DNG and JPEG formats. Additionally, the rear LCD display features a scratch-resistant sapphire cover glass paired with an anti-glare coating for improved clarity under strong sunlight conditions.

This camera features a full-frame BSI CMOS sensor equipped with Triple Resolution Technology. It allows shooting at resolutions of 60, 36, or 18 megapixels. The connectivity options consist of Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, and cables. With Bluetooth Low Energy capability, users can seamlessly transfer photos via the Leica FOTOS application in the background.

It also features Content Credentials technology, which attaches tamper-resistant metadata to each image. This encompasses details like the camera model, copyright information, file creation timestamps, and edit history.

The M11-P Safari includes a black carrying strap and arrives in eco-friendly packaging produced in Germany. Its price is
$10,495
It can be found at Leica Stores, the Leica Online Store, as well as through authorized retailers.
